Frequently Asked Questions

Pulse will provide a comprehensive range of services to both residential and business customers, including multi-gigabit Internet, WiFi, TV, and Voice.

In short, because its residents asked for it. In 2021, 80% of respondents to the Town of Timnath’s Resident Survey stated they wanted the Town to investigate municipal broadband services to improve accessibility and affordability. More recently, in 2023, a survey reinforced the residents’ desire for improved broadband to support remote work, school, and telehealth. 79% of respondents said they would be willing to pay up to $80 per month for improved internet service (i.e., 1GB upload/download speeds).

The final decision to partner with Pulse came after several years of research and planning. In 2022, a broadband implementation master plan identified partnering with a local neighboring municipal broadband provider as a priority. The Town of Timnath initiated a Broadband Services Letter of Intent process and, after months of discussions and due diligence, determined that partnering with Pulse was the most effective and cost-efficient path forward.

An Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the Timnath Town Council and Loveland’s City Council was signed in August 2023.

A high-speed, high-capacity, affordable network will aid in countless conveniences and efficiencies for residents and businesses, as well as positively impact commerce, education, health, and cultural enrichment.

As a result of 2 years of broadband planning, the Town of Timnath determined that contracting with Pulse for broadband services was the most effective and cost-efficient path forward. Both entities view their partnership as more than a broadband service agreement – it’s an investment strategy that positions both organizations for long-term success.

Pulse is an award-winning Internet Service Provider – the fastest in Colorado according to PCMag – that is focused not only on innovation and technology but also on providing extraordinary customer experiences. As a community-owned utility, we exist to serve residents and businesses and we design, build, and operate our network with the foresight that what we’re creating today will be in place for generations to come.

We expect it to take 3—5 years for the full network build-out. However, we open neighborhoods for service as they are completed, and we anticipate connecting our first Timnath customers in 2025.

A variety of factors determine the order in which we build and open areas, such as proximity to existing infrastructure or ease of construction.

We notify residents directly when construction is starting as well as when service is available at their address. It typically takes 6-9 months from when we start construction in a neighborhood to when it is live. We encourage everyone to sign up for email updates at pulsefiber.com/Check-Availability.

The complete network build-out will take 3—5 years, with construction happening in multiple locations at once. As construction finishes in a neighborhood, Pulse will be available to that neighborhood; this way we can roll out service as soon as it is ready for an area.

We anticipate connecting our first Timnath customer in 2025.

We understand that owners and tenants may be nervous about property damage when they hear that there will be network construction going past their address. We can assure you that we’re dedicated to restoring properties to a condition that is as good as or better than when we started construction.

We use low-impact construction techniques where possible and take extra precautions to minimize disruption to property. If you notice any damage, we have a team that specializes in remediation. They can be reached via our Construction Hotline at 970-775-8778.

We will mail a letter to your home shortly before construction is scheduled to begin. The first sign of construction is when utilities are located and flagged so that conduit can be buried in the public right-of-way and utility easements. It typically takes about 6-9 months from this time until service is available. When you sign up for service, we will bring the fiber from the street to the exterior of your home/business, and during your installation appointment, a technician will bring the fiber from the exterior of your home/business to the interior.

We will notify residents directly when construction starts in their area. We encourage you to sign up for email updates at www.pulsefiber.com/Check-Availability.

The Town of Timnath will use existing Capital Improvement Funds to fund the initial phase of capital construction. In turn, the Town of Timnath will receive 25% of gross operating revenues for all wired data services.

No. We hope that you’ll sign up with us, but Pulse is an optional service. We’ll offer Timnath residents and businesses a competitive alternative for Internet, Wi-Fi, TV, and Voice services.

Pulse is fully committed to delivering the best experience for Lovelanders, and this expansion will not impact Pulse’s current or future ability to serve Loveland. Loveland tax-payers will not assume any cost of expanding the network.
